Yale Department of Psychiatry leads U.S. medical schools in research funding

The Yale Department of Psychiatry again received more funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) than any other U.S. medical school for psychiatric research.

Yale faculty and affiliates in 2015 were given $60.49 million in NIH grants, according to a report by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research. Second on the list was the University of Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh, which received $52 million in grants.

Several faculty affiliated with Yale were in the top 150 in funding in the country, according to the report. The report lists 1,152 researchers who combined received $726 million in research grants in 2015.
