Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a life-affirming 8-week course in conscious living that has helped tens of thousands of people worldwide cope with the stresses of life. It was developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical School by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Thousands of clinical studies have shown the power of mindfulness practice to improve symptoms and help people cope a wide range of physiological and psychological challenges, including stress, cancer, anxiety and depression, chronic pain, and more.

This is an intensive experiential course. The heart of the curriculum is a daily mindfulness practice. There are eight weekly 2.5-hour classes, a 7-hour retreat held on a weekend and approximately one hour of home practice a day.

Please be aware that this course is not suitable for individuals with active substance abuse or suicidal ideation. If you are facing these challenges, please seek professional help and consider taking the MBSR course at a later date.

The MBSR course is open to all - and all are welcome. The cost is $460. We are unable to offer scholarships at this time but those with a Yale ID are eligible for a discount through Being Well At Yale. The dates of upcoming courses are listed here.
