This study attempts to measure the microglial activation and metabotropic glutamate receptor type 5 (mGluR5) availability in depressed subjects

Participation Guidelines

Age:
18 Years - 65 Years
Gender:
Both

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD)
  • Currently depressed
  • No medications

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Substance abuse (except caffeine and nicotine) within the preceding 6 months
  • Pregnancy/nursing
  • Any MRI contraindications
  • Prior radiation exposure with the past year such that participation in this study would place them over FDA limits for annual radiation exposure
  • BMI greater than 30
