Before joining YSPH Mike was the STEM project manager for the Yale Young Global Scholars program where he was responsible for developing and implementing various aspects of a wide array of academic programs. He conducted research as a postdoctoral fellow in the Yale Department of Psychiatry. His research focused on mechanisms of memory destabilization and applications of these mechanisms in models of addiction and schizophrenia. He has taught as Yale Summer Session instructor and adjunct professor of Psychology at Quinnipiac University, University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut State University.
