Laurie Sperry, BCBA-D, PhD, MSc

Biography

In addition to a PhD, and a degree in Forensic Psychology and Criminology, Dr. Sperry is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst- Doctoral Level. She has participated in global outreach and provided services in Australia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Africa, Saipan, Singapore, China and has developed a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in Bangalore, India.

In 2006 she was added to the Fulbright Scholarship’s Senior Specialist Roster for Autism.She moved to Australia in 2010 and worked at Griffith University in the Department of Arts, Education and Law and worked to establish four inclusive Early Intervention Centers in rural and remote parts of Australia.

Dr. Sperry is also on the faculty at Regis University.

  • International Society for Autism Research (2014) Scientific Reviewer of study submissions to determine their scientific merit and inclusion in the annual international conference

  • Regis University- Institutional Review Board Member (2013) Scientific Reviewer on university wide Institutional Review Board (IRB). Duties include review of the scientific merit of submitted proposals and ensuring the adherence to University, state and federal ethics standards.

  • National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorders - University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill (2009 - 2010) National expert serving on review board to conduct extensive review and monitor the evaluation of autism intervention literature and formulate policy and procedures to identify practices that meet criteria for evidence-based treatments for children and youth with autism spectrum disorders.

  • Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders (2000) Consulting Editor, Reviewer for research articles, films and books based on areas of expertise to determine the scientific merit and accuracy of the articles submitted to the journal for publication.
