Carolyn Mazure to Receive Psychology Award

May 05, 2016

Women’s Health Research at Yale Director Carolyn M. Mazure, Ph.D., will receive the Sidney J. Blatt Award at next month’s ceremony for graduates of Yale School of Medicine’s Doctoral Internship in Clinical and Community Psychology.

The highest honor bestowed by the Psychology Section, the award is named in memory of the former Chief of Psychology within the Department of Psychiatry, renowned for a career spanning more than a half century as a clinician, educator, and scholar. Before his retirement in 2011, Dr. Blatt maintained a vibrant practice of psychotherapy, trained hundreds of psychologists and physicians, and pursued an active course of empirical research on psychodynamic theories and interventions. The Sidney J. Blatt Award is given to a faculty psychologist who similarly has excelled in clinical care, teaching, and research.

Dr. Mazure will also deliver the keynote address at the ceremony on June 14 at the New Haven Lawn Club.
